Podcast & Giving Circle

Q: What is the Do Good on Purpose Podcast?
A: The podcast explores how leaders are addressing some of society's biggest challenges. Through thoughtful, human conversations, we unpack the tensions shaping our world and spotlight the people and organizations building solutions. Each episode links directly to the Do Good on Purpose Giving Circle, inviting listeners to support the solutions discussed through collective action.

Q: What is the Do Good on Purpose Giving Circle and how is it connected to the Podcast?
A: Directly. As each episode explores a pressing global challenge, listeners are invited to move from learning to action by supporting the featured nonprofit through the Giving Circle. The podcast informs your giving. The Giving Circle puts it into practice.

Q: What is a Giving Circle?

A: A giving circle brings people together to learn and give collectively to causes they care about. The Do Good on Purpose Giving Circle partners with Grapevine.org to facilitate donations to vetted nonprofit organizations - enabling groups of people to pool donations, connect, and collectively amplify their charitable impact. Download the free guide here.

Q: Is giving required to listen to or subscribe to the Podcast?
A: No. Giving is always optional and done at your own discretion. The Giving Circle is designed as a space to learn, reflect, and engage with philanthropy - with opportunities to give for those who feel called to do so.

Q: How are donations managed?
A: All donations are made directly through Grapevine.org (https://www.grapevine.org). Dorothy Stuehmke and Capital Impact Advisory do not process or manage donations directly.

Q: How is this different from just donating to a charity?

A: When you join the Giving Circle, you're not just donating — you're becoming part of a community that learns together, gives together, and creates collective impact that individual donations alone can't match. You also get education, tools, and access that make you a smarter, more confident giver.

Q: How can an Organization or Philanthropist be considered for the podcast?
A: For inquiries, recommendations, or more information on criteria for participating in the podcast, please contact us at dogood@dorothystuehmke.com.

Membership

Q: Where does my money go?

A: As an Influencer or Trailblazer, you are contributing to two things:

1. A giving circle contribution charged either monthly or annually to support all nonprofits in the Giving Circle. Your giving is facilitated through Grapevine.org (https://www.grapevine.org), a trusted collective giving platform, so you can see exactly where your dollars land.

2. A one-time membership fee paid to Capital Impact Advisory for philanthropy resources to help you give with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.

Q: What is Grapevine and why do I need it?

A: Grapevine (https://www.grapevine.org) is the platform we use to facilitate collective giving to vetted nonprofits. As an Influencer or Trailblazer, you'll be directed to Grapevine to set up your giving commitment after joining. Grapevine is a leading online platform designed to facilitate giving circles — enabling groups of people to pool donations, connect, and collectively support nonprofits.

Q: Are there any fees for using Grapevine?

A: Grapevine does not charge any platform fees for online donations made directly on their platform. The only costs are standard payment processing fees that go directly to their payment partners. See grapevine.org for more details.

Q: Are my donations tax deductible?

A: Yes - every dollar you contribute to the Do Good on Purpose Giving Circle through Grapevine is 100% tax-deductible. You will receive an official tax-deductible receipt via email from the Grapevine Giving Foundation (their 501(c)(3) public charity partner) at info@grapevine.org the moment you donate. Once funds are distributed to nonprofits, you can redownload your receipt to see exactly which organizations your money supported.

Note: Your membership fee paid to Capital Impact Advisory is not tax deductible as it covers community access and programming. We always recommend consulting a qualified tax advisor to determine how any deduction applies to your specific tax situation.

Q: What is Grapevine's refund policy?

A: Refunds can be issued upon request, provided two conditions are met:

1. The request is made within 90 days of the donation

2. The funds have not yet been distributed to nonprofits

Once a giving cycle ends and pooled funds are officially distributed to the designated charities, all donations are final. To request a refund, contact Grapevine directly at info@grapevine.org.

Q: Can I give through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), check, or wire transfer?

A: Yes. Grapevine accommodates off-platform donations including DAF grants, paper checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers. When giving off-platform, please write the following in the memo line or description field:

- Giving Circle name: Do Good on Purpose Giving Circle

- Target pool: [the specific pool name, e.g., Nonprofit Name or Membership Collective]

This ensures Grapevine routes your donation correctly. Note that off-platform donations are subject to a 3% Grapevine platform fee. For more information visit https://www.grapevine.org.

Q: Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership?

A: Absolutely. You can change your tier at any time.

Q: What if I'm brand new to philanthropy?

A: You're in exactly the right place. Start by listening to the podcast - it's free and will change the way you think about giving. Then join as an Initiator when you're ready. The Giving Circle meets you where you are.

Q: I already listen to the podcast. What's next?
